How many pieces of Flair does it take?

The following quote from one of my favorite movies, Office Space, shows how I have been feeling lately...
Joanna: You know what, Stan, if you want me to wear 37 pieces of flair, like your pretty boy over there Bryan, why don't you make the minimum 37 pieces of flair?

Stan, Chotchkie's Manager: Well, I thought I remembered you saying that you wanted to express yourself.

Joanna: You know what, I do want to express myself, okay. And I don't need 37 pieces of flair to do it.

How have you been? Ever forget the coversheet on your TPS reports?

Which Office Space character are you? Find out here.

The Audience is Up to Something

I ran across this brilliant video by Peter Hirshberg of Technorati, and Michel Markman and I could not resist posting it. It is a nice view at how Technology and Web 2.0 can empower the people, giving them more room to choose instead of just taking what the mainstream media has been feeding us. My favorite line is (the mainstream media speaking here):
"Can't we just start blogging back at them?"
"Well yeah, but where's the money in that"

Here is the link to Michel Markman's post.

Watching Beirut die

Read this great article by Anthony Bourdain. He went to Beirut to film a TV show, and ended up in the middle of the bombing by Israeli forces. Very interesting account of the reality that is the world we live in. Read the full story on Salon.

Appalachian State University is HOT HOT HOT - Updated

Check out this really awful recruitment video for Appalachian State University. It is amazingly bad. (Thanks Boing Boing).
(Link to BB entry)

And always remember "Appalachian State University is HOT HOT HOT!"

Update: I did a little digging and found a little more about this video. It is real, but not exactly directly connected to the university. But what makes this even funnier is that this was aired on VH1! Read more>>

eMusic hits No. 2 in digital music sales, thanks iPod

Reported on TUAW.com:
eMusic, a seemingly small-time digital music service that sells DRM-free MP3s of independent artists, has quietly overtaken other big name rivals such as RealNetworks, Yahoo! and even Napster for the #2 spot in digital music sales.

I just love this eMusic. I have been using it since April 2005, and I think it is great that others do as well. Nice to see it as a success. Check it out for your self.
