Speckles of Validity
Life sure has been busy lately. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was finishing up my previous post. Time flies when you are having fun, so I am told. I wonder if the person who came up with that saying also started 'Sounds like someone has a case of the Mondays'?
Last week I had an appointment with an advisor at UNT. It was an informational meeting. A first "meet and greet" between the UNT School of Library and Information Science and myself. It went very well and the process is underway. Applications and forms are on their way to completion. It is nice that most things can be done online these days. I remember the days I spent standing in various lines when I was attending Texas Tech for my undergrad degree. There was the "Add/Drop" line in the student union building at the beginning of each semester. Many times you had to take part in forming a line at your advisor's office on the other side of campus. And who can forget the lines at the Financial Aid Office! At least the bursar's office had TV's so one could stay up-to-date with daytime dramas! Oh, good times!
Work has been super busy this past month. I have worked late on several occasions and more than one weekend has included work. It is going well though. Not to mention that my vacation begins in a week. I am so excited! We are going to the Netherlands and Belgium for a week. And it could not have come at a more perfect time. I am getting so burned out at work. But I just have four more days of work left! Then I will be boarding a plane for a week of R&R in Western Europe. What could be better!
I am still working on moving my blogs to a new platform. I am currently evaluating WordPress. So far I really like it. I will likely make the move once I get back from my trip. More details to follow.
Well, so much for an update. That's the juiciness you wanted, right?

Bill Lumbergh: "Oh, oh, and I almost forgot. Ahh, I'm also gonna need you to go ahead and come in on Sunday, too..."
