On the 'Pod

Recently I noticed that it has been some time since I posted what I am currently listening to on my iPod. I first have to say that I have been just absolutely loving my nano. It has become my "right-hand-man". It goes almost everywhere I do. My very own theme music. And my theme music rocks! It keeps me sane in an insane world. Anyways, on to the music. Below is a list of the music that currently is in heavy rotation, in no particular order.

  1. Legal Man - Belle and Sebastian
  2. Southern Comfort - Sofalab (Album)
  3. Lucy and Linus (Charlie Brown) - Vince Guaraldi
  4. Ciao! - Lush
  5. Pit of Snakes - Gravediggaz
  6. Automatique with Floetry - Blackalicious
  7. Me and the Major - Belle and Sebastian
  8. Buck'em Down - Black Moon
  9. 48 Seasons (Sampler) - The Legendary KO
  10. Holiday - Green Day
  11. Nu-Dub - Fredrik Stark (Small Town Underground)
  12. Pen and Notebook - Camera Obscura
  13. Johnny B. Goode - Peter Tosh
  14. Acid Raindrops - People Under the Stairs
  15. Gimme Some Lovin' - The Spencer Davis Group

If you have not heard any of these, I recommend checking them out. Do you have something blow'in up your 'Pod? Let me know, I am always up for some new music.

The Human Clock

The Human Clock. Go see for your self.

Photo Project: Camera Mail

I ran across this really cool project where a disposable camera is packaged and shipped through the US Postal Service. It is packaged and labeled in a such a way that everyone who encounters (handles) it will (can) take a picture of themselves. The results are really cool. (Link)

"The IT Crowd"

If you have not already done so, you definitely need to check out the British sitcom "The IT Crowd". This sysadmin comedy is off the hook. I just watched the first 3 episodes and I was rolling! If the neighbors could have heard me, a man in a white coat would be coming to take me away! Check it out for your self:

Feeds, Feeds, and more Feeds...BlogBridge to the Rescue!

Greetings blog readers and news junkies...I have brought you good news today. But I will give you a little history first. I first began to read blogs almost a year ago. It seems like it has been much longer than that, but in fact it has not. I was aware of blogging and RSS Feeds prior to a year ago, but I had not began reading them on a regular basis yet. My first regular reads were some blogs by friends, family, and co-workers. It began slowly. Then I created my blog last summer. It all began on a whim. I guess that is how things are sometimes. My web site also began on somewhat of a whim ages ago. It started as basic html code on a server, but at that point I did not even have a clue what html was. Everything must have a beginning. Right? But I regress, so back to my feed story. So, as my blog (this blog) grew, so did my reading list. Plus it seemed that more people I knew were beginning their own blogs too. Contagious stuff I guess. More and more I began to include news and info type feeds in my list and felt that I really needed to find a good RSS Aggregator or Reader. I have seen some online and they looked to be pretty easy to use, kind of like an email client. So I did some searching and found quite a few solutions for my Feed dilemma. I first downloaded and tried a free piece of software (for mac) called Feed. It worked pretty well. It is actually a very nice reader. But I was running into some small issues: (1) it has some little quirks and bugs (they may be fixed in the next release, (2) I was reading more blogs at work as well as at home and (3) it seemed to be kind of limited, hard to manage a larger number of feeds. The first issue was just a little frustrating, but the second and third issues moved me to find a sever-side solution that was designed for heavier feed reading. That is when I ran across BlogBridge.

It has totally changed by reading habits. At first it was very overwhelming because of the amount of feeds you can read and manage. But the more I used it, the more I just simply love it! It is very addictive. The low down – BlogBrige is server-side software that is cross-platform (clients available for mac, windows, and Linux) and it is Open Source. Right now it is free. It is so nice if you read Feeds on multiple computers, no matter what kind of system it is. I read feeds on my iBook (mac) at home and on my workstation (PC) at work with it. Awesome! So go check it out if you are looking for a feed reader that goes and reads how and where you want to read. Late. (Link)

Phil has Shown & the Results are In!

Yes, it is true. Punxsutawney Phil made his yearly appearance this morning - what is his forecast? Read it for yourself.

Groundhog Day is almost here!

Tomorrow is February 2. Groundhog day 2006. What will good ole' Punxsutawney Phil forecast this year? An early spring? More winter? Only time will tell. Of course, for those of us whose "winter" has been 70's & 80's more often than any real "winter" weather, 6 more weeks of winter would not be too bad.

Are you curious how did this yearly ritual began? Visit the Official Site of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club for the low down. (Link)

Good Luck!
